Relyon achieves FISP membership

UK bed manufacturer Relyon has achieved full membership of the Furniture Industry Sustainability Programme (FISP), demonstrating its commitment to working sustainably. Paul Little, senior national account manager for Relyon, says: “As an organisation that cares about the environment, we wanted to ensure we are doing everything we can to work sustainably. Becoming a full member of FISP has helped us to identify opportunities to enhance our efficiency and sustainability as a business.

“We monitored the use of resources, such as electricity, water and how we are using them. This has prompted us to renew all of the lighting in our showroom to use 30% less energy, and we are actively reducing the quantity of waste sent to landfill. Responsibly sourcing raw materials, including wood from FSC- or PEFC-certified sources, also facilitates our ‘due diligence’ obligations under the new EU Timber Regulation.”
