Countdown has begun for IMOB 2013

Home /

Organised for the ninth time by the Turkish Furniture Industrialists Association MOSDER, the Istanbul Furniture Fair (IMOB), Turkey’s international furniture exhibition, will be held in the Istanbul Expo Center between January 29th and February 2nd this year. The organiser of IMOB claims the event will reveal the best examples of the Turkish furniture sector, exporting to 173 countries.
Organised by the leaders of the Turkish Furniture Industrialists Association, the ITE Group and Turkey Office E International Fairs (EUF), IMOB 2013 aims to be a united platform for the Turkish and world furniture sectors – the fair is already the meeting point for the Turkish furniture sector. It is hoped that this year’s show will open new business fields – last year it attracted visitors from 103 countries from all around the world.
Held in nine halls in total, IMOB 2013 is hoping to expand business fields even more with the expectation of over 300 participants, over 1000 brands and 100,000 visitors.
Turkish furniture firms pride themselves on being able to offer a wide variety of products in a single container, essentially making them one-stop-shops for retailers, resulting in lower costs for importing firms.
In order to exceed the $2b of export figures in 2012, the furniture sector of Turkey places particular emphasis on its exports around the world, particularly Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
IMOB 2013 will continue to offer several advantages to participants this year by arranging the furniture sector layout in a different way from previous years. According to the organiser, the show was visited by 80,000 people last year, and its organiser expects to attract 100,000 visitors this year – it is estimated that 20% of Turkey’s export targets for 2013 will be met during IMOB. Decision makers are projected to come from more than 100 countries to see original products which reflect the trend towards Turkish-style furniture.
The organiser describes IMOB 2013 as a place where furniture comes to the forefront – with functionality and original design ideas being paramount.
