An optimised Tendence promises added value

Home /

Tendence will present this year’s autumn, winter and Christmas trends, and offer an initial preview of next year’s spring and summer collections. Thus Tendence is not only positioned as a market-relevant order platform, but also as a trend barometer and source of inspiration.

“The national and international consumer goods market needs and demands Tendence,” says Nicolette Naumann, vice-president of Ambiente und Tendence. “This is where the trade puts together its new collections, where it discovers innovations, trends and design, and where it meets the sector in its entirety. Thus, Tendence is a firmly-established and indispensable quantity on the European fair and exhibition landscape.”

In line with the needs and expectations of exhibitors and the international trade, Tendence will be held over four days – Saturday to Tuesday – from this year. The various product segments cover six exhibition halls: living with new tableware and household collections is in halls 8.0, 9.0 and 11.1; and gift articles and jewellery are located in halls 9.1, 9.2, 9.3 and 11.1.

Registrations have already been received from numerous renowned companies including ASA Selection, Blomus, Boltze, Drescher, Exotica Cor Mulder, Fink, Henry Dean, Hoff Interieur, Kare Design, Mono/Seibel Designpartner, Reisenthel, Stelton, Top Team and Zoeppritz.

Two new events will be held concurrently with Tendence 2013 at the Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre. The Ecostyle trade fair is the first information and order platform for certified sustainable consumer goods in the European retail trade and, from 24-26th August 2013, international manufacturers will show ‘green’ lifestyle and design products in hall 10.1.

During Webchance, to be held in Galleria 1 of the Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre on 24-25th August, small- to medium-sized retailers will be able to obtain insights into successful internet advertising and sales.

Both events not only offer Tendence visitors added value and supplementary benefits but also round off the range of products to be seen at Tendence in an innovative and future-oriented way.

Added value is also offered through the extensive Tendence complementary programme. In the Carat section (hall 9.3), jewellery dealers will find a new edition of ‘Carat! On Stage’ with lectures covering a variety of interesting topics. Prominently positioned in the jewellery hall, a Watch Area will enrich the product spectrum to be seen at Tendence.

Thanks to the Talents promotional programme, young designers once again have the opportunity to present their prototypes and small product series to an international audience, and to make important contacts in the consumer-goods sector.

Besides the Carat Talents Area in hall 9.3, visitors will find more young designers in the Modern Crafts segment where, on two promotional areas in halls 9.2 and 9.3, they have an unrivalled opportunity to show what they can do.

The areas are the result of an initiative by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Technologie – BMWi).
Valuable tips on the subject of visual merchandising will be available at the Window Dressing Live workshop. There, in hall 9.2, retailers can learn how to turn their shop windows into genuine customer magnets. Additionally, the LifeCare Initiative at Tendence honours consumer-friendly consumer goods with the Home&Trend Award. The award-winning products will be on show in a special exhibition in hall 9.0.

Tendence is also an important platform for modern arts & crafts. The ‘form’ exhibition presents industrially- and hand-made products from Tendence exhibitors, which have been selected by a jury of experts as being particularly high in quality and imaginative. As in previous years, the Hessian State Award for German Arts & Crafts will also be presented at Tendence. Germany’s oldest state award, it was donated by Hessian Minister President Georg August Zinn at the suggestion of the Hessian Arts & Crafts Association (Kunsthandwerk Hessen e. V.) in 1951. This year, this promotional award for products distinguished by outstanding artistic and hand-crafted features will be given for the 63rd time.
