Minerva Furniture Group is an independent buying group, serving an impressive (and growing) retail membership and worldwide supplier base.

The group is seeking a hands-on and proactive COO to grow the business while keeping the values Minerva has to its independent retailers.

Reporting to:
board of directors

Responsible for:
office manager and team

Location:
working from home, visiting the Corsham office, travelling around the UK and overseas

Key responsibilities


* Directing the organisation in line with the goals and visions set by the board of directors

* Communicating with the board of directors of any changes to the membership and approved suppliers

* Provide agenda and attend board meetings

* Retain current membership and approved suppliers, by forging relationships and visiting both members and suppliers regularly

* Improving terms and value from suppliers where possible for the membership

* Increase the number of members and approved suppliers

* Work with the board of directors on the annual costs and packages for the membership subscriptions

* Seek product for ‘Minerva Exclusives’ for the membership, while maintaining expected pricing levels

* Overseeing the daily business and administrative operations and improving operating procedures for optimal efficiency alongside the office manager

* Assessing and enhancing the efficiency of internal and external operational processes alongside the office manager

* Work alongside the Minerva office on stock levels for its container programme and ‘Minerva Exclusives’

* Support the Minerva office with rebate submissions and ensure the team keeps on target with the biannual payouts

* Attend trade shows across the UK and overseas to build the Minerva profile


Exhibitions (biannual)

* Negotiate contracts with venues and key partners for Minerva exhibitions

* Sell exhibition stand space to current approved suppliers and guest suppliers to reach maximum capacity at the exhibitions while maintaining a profitable rate

* Market and promote the exhibitions with leading trade magazines and explore additional routes to market

* Plan and action marketing campaigns to increase general footfall at each exhibition

* Work with the Minerva office on organising the gala dinner

* Sell gala dinner tickets to members and suppliers to reach maximum capacity and profit while maintaining value for the attendees.

* Attend both exhibitions
