Consumer online repair service launched

The first online furniture inspection and repairs booking service for consumers has been launched this week. FIRA Service Technicians, a market-leading furniture aftercare and repair service, is now able to give consumers the option to go online to book a visit from a FIRA furniture technician.

Established over 16 years ago, FIRA Service Technicians is a nationwide service with over 90 experienced furniture technicians covering the UK and Ireland. It is used by many of the UK’s major retailers and manufacturers to carry out an impartial fault verification (inspection) and repair service.

A link to the online booking system will be emailed to a customer if the first attempts to get in touch on the phone are unsuccessful.

Joe Boyd, operations manager for FIRA Service Technicians, says: “We launched online booking through our web portal for our clients earlier this year, so we are now pleased to able to offer this service direct to their customers. It provides instant access to technician diaries, enabling customers to log on at their convenience and electronically book an appointment for a technician to visit and inspect or repair their furniture. Alongside this service, we have also carried out improvements to our web portal and case management system.

“We are proud to be the first furniture aftercare provider to offer an online booking service direct to consumers. These investments in technology are helping us continue to work towards our overall aim of providing a service that minimises inconvenience and ensures complete customer satisfaction.”

As well as online booking, FIRA has invested in a range of technology over the past year, including the launch of a new reporting system used with tablet computers to speed up turnaround times for technicians working remotely.
