Silentnight teams up with British Weight Lifting

British Weight Lifting, the National Governing Body for Olympic weightlifting and Paralympic powerlifting in Great Britain, and bed manufacturer, Silentnight, have teamed up with the aim of reinforcing the correlation between a good’s night sleep and success.

Silentnight has provided new beds for British Weight Lifting’s athlete accommodation at the organisation’s high-performance training base at Loughborough University. The athletes that reside here are either on British Weight Lifting’s World Class Programme or in the GB development squad.

Nick Booth, marketing director at Silentnight, says: “British Weight Lifting develops the UK’s best athletes in the weightlifting world, including Commonwealth Games medalists, Olympic and Paralympic athletes and world record holders. We are always working to promote the link between sleep and success, and what better way to do this than working with an organisation that is responsible for delivering medal-winning athletes?”

Ashley Metcalfe, British Weight Lifting CEO, adds: “The lifestyle and health of our team is fundamental to both their training and success and this includes their sleep. We firmly believe that there is a strong association between the amount of sleep and the quality of sleep they get and how well they perform, so our partnership with Silentnight should get us some great results.”
