Alma to collaborate with Central Saint Martins graduates during London Design Festival

Alma, a luxury leather specialist and champion of British design, is collaborating with young graduate designers from Central Saint Martins for an exhibition during this year’s London Design Festival. The six young designers will be working with a range of leather offcuts from Alma to create new designs, from cabinets and lighting to ottomans. The pieces will be exhibited at the Alma factory in Whitechapel’s Greatorex Street, the historic heart of the leather industry.

Founded in 1938, Alma is a purveyor of British design with a long standing history of supporting young designers by donating leather offcuts to students’ design projects. Synonymous with quality and craftsmanship, Alma originally built a solid reputation within the fashion industry.

Today, Alma designs and produces bespoke leather interiors, furniture and furnishings as well as a range of hand-made bespoke leather accessories and handbags from its workshop in Whitechapel. With a flagship showroom in Mayfair, Alma has a diverse collection of more than 200 different types of leather at any one time and the on-site team of specialists can advise on a range of bespoke styles, finishes and applications.

The exhibition will run from 21-25 September at Alma’s Greatorex factory at 12-14 Greatorex Street, London.
