Bedmakers' human trafficking trial begins

The bosses at the now-closed bedmaker Kozee Sleep of Dewsbury have appeared before Leeds Crown Court to face charges of conspiracy to traffic individuals within the UK, reported the BBC last week.

The BBC reports that the court was told that the company knowingly employed a "slave workforce" of Hungarian nationals trafficked into the country, and were paid as little as £10 a day.

Owner Mohammed Rafiq, plus employees Mohammed Patel and Mohammed Dadhiwala, deny any wrongdoing.
