Luxury bedmaker Vispring has appointed a new MD, Steve Henning, who will take up his post from 11th January 2016. He replaces Mike Meehan, who steps down after 20 years, having steadily grown the business, improved results and established Vispring internationally.

Steve joins Vispring from British technology pioneer, Dyson, where he was the company’s global account director. Previous to that, he was president for Asia at the Franke Group, which for more than 100 years has specialised in high-end luxury kitchen systems.

Steve brings to his new role experience of the luxury interiors industry and an acute international perspective as a result of living and working in continental Europe, Asia and North America. His experience will be of vital importance to Vispring, which, having doubled its overseas sales in the last 10 years, continues to implement a strategic international growth programme for the next five to ten years.

Steve comments: “I am delighted to take the helm at Vispring. The quality of its offering and the expertise of its skilled craftsmen ensure that the product speaks for itself. Our goal is to not only build the Vispring brand in new markets and forge new retail partnerships, but more fundamentally to establish the luxury bed segment to ensure the Vispring brand is synonymous with luxury sleep across all markets.”

Rafael Gonzalez Beteré, CEO of the Flex Group, the Spanish parent company of Vispring, says: “Under Mike’s management Vispring has gone from strength to strength, growing and establishing a global footprint and category leadership that Steve will further expand.”

After a period of transition, Mike will continue to assist the Flex Group as a board member of Vispring and its sister company, retailer And So To Bed.
