Bensons re-opens Kendal store following floods

Bensons for Beds has re-opened its Kendal store following its devastation by flooding last December. The store has undergone a complete refurbishment.

When Storm Desmond hit Cumbria at the end of last year, Kendal became one of the worst affected areas. Kendal’s Bensons for Beds store was left under four feet of water and the building had to be gutted as stock and equipment were destroyed.

The three staff employed by the store were also personally affected by the floods in a double blow to both their homes and workplace, but are now back at work as usual.

Neil Sears, regional manager, Bensons for Beds, says: “We are thrilled to announce the refurbishment of our Kendal store following the recent floods. We are committed to the local community and have therefore made a substantial investment in ensuring that the store could return to business as usual as soon as possible – both for our staff and of course for our customers.”

Kendal’s Bensons for Beds store is located at Stockbeck Mill, Longpool, Kendal.
