Actor Owen Wilson is set to feature in a new brand campaign for leading UK sofa specialist Sofology, which will play out across TV and digital channels from today.

Owen Wilson will feature in the TV ads, as well as making a special appearance in new idents for the specialist sofa retailers’ long standing sponsorship of Channel 4’s hit show Gogglebox, also on air from today. The idents launch during the celebrity special Stand Up To Cancer edition featuring Ed Sheeran, Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne and Jeremy Corbyn, to name a few.

As a busy star who is always on the move, Wilson relishes the sanctuary of home, and Sofology says the campaign appealed to him for this reason.

The ad was filmed inside a Malibu mansion, close to where the actor lives. Located on Mulholland Highway, the contemporary-style mansion has been a set of blockbuster hits and music videos, with celebrities like Britney Spears, Nicolas Cage and John Travolta having filmed here.

The ad sees Owen relaxing on the Sofology Cristiana, a luxury grey fabric curved corner sofa with buttoned back detailing.

The £20m campaign produced by creative agency Alpha Century will also run across digital and social channels as well as in store.

The campaign aims to drive Sofology’s passion for understanding how much home matters, while raising the value of how sofas play an important part in people’s happiness.
