Final call for Young Professional Industry Experience applications

The Furniture Makers’ Company is issuing a final call for companies to put forward employees for its 2018 Young Professionals Industry Experience (YPIE).

Launched in 2014, the experience brings together some of the brightest young talent in the furnishing industry to take part in an intensive three-week learning programme.

The group is given access to all areas of the industry supply chain, learning about raw materials and components, the complexity of manufacturing, buying criteria, pricing, marketing and merchandising, through to consumer law, after sales and customer service.

Nineteen industry companies will open their doors this June and July to give the young professionals an insight into their businesses.

Dr Tony Smart MBE, master of The Furniture Makers’ Company, says: “The Furniture Makers’ Company is committed to supporting the development of a strong workforce for the future. The Young Professionals Industry Experience is the ultimate industry specific continuous professional development course and a unique opportunity that only we can provide through our membership. By putting forward a candidate, you can reward one of your employees and help them become one of the leaders of tomorrow.”

Anyone interested in putting forward an employee should contact Damilola Bamidele by emailing [email protected]. The deadline for applications is 31st January 2018.
