Parker Knoll expands apprenticeship scheme

As it celebrated National Apprenticeship Week earlier this month, Parker Knoll announced that it had expanded its longstanding apprenticeship scheme to include both frame assembly and business administration, in addition to traditional upholstery.

With 149 years of furnituremaking experience, the brand offers an extensive apprenticeship programme, giving young people the chance to develop traditional artisan skills in upholstery and classic furniture design, as well as marketing and production.

The addition of these new roles reflects an increased demand for apprenticeships in the sector, as well as demonstrating the value they hold for businesses that offer them.

Each Parker Knoll apprenticeship lasts for approximately 22 months, and trainees are paid for the duration, enabling them to start earning a wage whilst gaining a practical education.

Now in its 11th year, National Apprenticeship Week is an annual celebration of all apprentices across the country, and the businesses that offer them key training and career development.
