Airsprung invests in new technology

Airsprung Group, one of the leading UK furniture groups, has announced a £250,000 investment in machinery at two of its companies.

Cavendish Upholstery, the group's sofa manufacturing operation based in Chorley, has taken delivery of a new Lectra automated cutting machine. The latest camera technology enables pattern and stripe matching, and this CAD-operated machine will further expand Cavendish's extensive upholstery offer. As well as increasing reliability, the investment offers a considerably higher capacity to service the brand's expanding customer base.

Swanglen, the group's headboard brand, recently installed a state-of-the-art CNC cutting machine at its Bristol facility. The technology allows Swanglen to generate the accurate profiled shaping and positioning for fittings. This investment greatly increases the speed of production and reliability, and allows for greater flexibility in new product development.
