BFM promises new faces and farewells at January show

This year, the BFM is undertaking a significant number of changes, and the association will outline these at the January Furniture Show (taking place from 20th-23rd January at the Birmingham NEC), where its team is looking forward to greeting current and prospective members on stand 1-B32.

BFM’s new MD, Nick Garratt, previously of ercol, joined the company in November 2018 and has been giving the BFM brand a makeover – a new brochure that reflects this will be available.

Newly-appointed education and training manager, Lisa Williamson, will also be on hand to answer any questions about apprenticeships, including the new Apprenticeship Levy. Lisa will inform visitors about training opportunities, and how to create a new generation of furnituremakers and upholsterers.

Jackie Bazeley, joint MD, will attend the show for the last time as part of the BFM. After eight years of leadership, Jackie is looking forward to retiring in May. She says: “The 2019 January Furniture Show will be bittersweet. It is my last show with BFM so is the perfect opportunity for saying goodbyes to those I have met over the years. Although I am looking forward to relaxing in retirement, I will be sad to step away from the industry.”

Jackie will also be attending her last London Fabric Show with the BFM at Chelsea Football Club on 4th-5th March this year.

The rest of the BFM team will also be on hand throughout the January Furniture Show, ready to answer any queries about the industry and membership.
