Ashley Manor appoints key principals

Sofamaker Ashley Manor has announced two high-profile announcements – Lisa Broad, who has joined as sales director, and Paul Whitelocks, who is the company's new MD.

Lisa was previously head of buying for Steinhoff Group. Her father, former Alston’s sales director John Broad, ignited her interest in the industry. “I’ve always had a real passion for upholstery, and with my background in textiles I have a real interest in fabrics, design detailing and trends,” she says.

Lisa was responsible for high-profile launches at Harveys, where she worked for many years as head of buying. Her retail background also includes stints with BHS and Laura Ashley.

Paul Whitelocks, the brand's new MD, has a unique combination of talents, from design and marketing to sales expertise and proven leadership skills. He has worked for the likes of Christie Tyler, Ultra, Wyevale Group, Belfield Group and Alexander & James. Paul latterly founded The Cotswold Bed Company, which is now run by his wife, Alejandra.

“Paul was the obvious person for me to help steer Ashley Manor into its next phase as a fast-growing British business," comments Mark Smith, CEO of DM Midlands Group, which comprises Ashley Manor, Alexander & James and AMX Design. "His appreciation of design, love of product and knowledge of the marketplace adds interesting layers to his expertise in running and developing companies, so I’m looking forward to the next chapter.”

Paul adds: “I am delighted to be part of this exciting new chapter in Ashley Manor’s history. With many years of experience behind us, we have now added an extra ‘sparkle’ with Scott’s [Coggan's] fabulous design skills, and we launched our latest collections at January Furniture Show, which really showcased our new design language.”
