BFM to move to Oxfordshire

The BFM (British Furniture Manufacturers) has announced plans to relocate its office from The Exchange in Long Eaton to Bloxham Mill in Oxfordshire.

The new office is 10 minutes from Banbury with fast trains to Birmingham and London.

The move concludes a project to develop a virtual workplace solution following a review and modernisation of operations by recently appointed MD, Nick Garratt. Internal administration processes have been improved with the introduction of a cloud-based document management system, enabling the business to operate without the need for a permanent, physical office space, says Nick.

Although the team will work remotely, the new office has a central switchboard answering service to maintain communications between the BFM and its members.

Nick says: "Although BFM is not a manufacturing business, productivity is crucial to any organisation and moving to a virtual workplace has been part of a drive to streamline systems, decrease costs and improve efficiency. This will help us to create a platform to focus our resources on improving the service we deliver to our members. Furthermore, we are doing our bit for the environment by reducing our carbon footprint through reduced travel and use of paper!"

The move is set to take place on 1st August.
