Duo boost Willis & Gambier's new team

Following the departure of brand mainstay David Lane, owner Birlea has boosted the team behind Willis & Gambier with the appointment of two industry heavyweights, Steve Armitage and Steve Parsons.

They join Kirsty Kind, Willis & Gambier's sales manager, who has been leading on retailer support. Since its appointment, the new team has already led a complete review of the brand's product portfolio, and new product photography, and is currently preparing a comprehensive stockist launch programme.

Jake and Joe Magill, joint MDs at Birlea, comment: "The duo bring a wealth of design and sales and marketing expertise to the team and provide W&G with the experience needed to refresh and relaunch the brand."

Leading on new product development, Steve Armitage, previously head of design at Loaf, is well known to many in cabinet design, and as an independent designer has created numerous ranges for UK brands.

Steve Parsons has an impressive track record in sales and marketing, and joins as sales and marketing consultant. Steve has guided some of the UK's leading cabinet brands. Over the years he helped revitalise Old Charm before moving on to Ducal, which became the largest cabinet manufacturer in the UK. More recently, he has been working with Asian manufacturers, particularly in China.

He comments: "I met Jake and Joe in China last year and they asked me to help with re-establishing the W&G brand. They are very committed, and it's great working with such a positive and enthusiastic team."

Both men are leading the new launch of Willis & Gambier's first new products for many years, which will hit stores next month. Over 50 pieces are being rolled out in stores this autumn.
