Dunelm director steps down following Post Office scandal

Paula Vennells, a non-executive director at Dunelm, stepped down from the retailer's board with immediate effect on 25th April.

Paula was the CEO of the Post Office from 2012-19, which is under scrutiny for its role in the wrongful convictions of numerous former postmasters, in what is being described as one of the most widespread miscarriages of justice in the nation's history.

Chairman of Dunelm, Andy Harrison, says: "We respect Paula's decision to step down from the board, and I would like to thank her for the positive contribution she has made to the business since her appointment in September 2019."

Paula has also stepped down from Morrisons' board, and has ceased her duties as an ordained Church of England minister.
