Mammoth sponsors rugby player of the year award

Health and wellbeing brand Mammoth has backed the Pickstar Rugby Players Association 2021 Awards, sponsoring the England Men’s Player of the Year category.

England and Sale flanker Tom Curry was named player of the year for the second year in a row, in recognition of his performance over the course of the last season. The award is uniquely voted for by players.

The virtual awards ceremony was hosted last week by Alex Payne, James Haskell and Emily Scarratt on rugby podcast The Good, the Bad and the Rugby, live from their living rooms.

As an official partner of the Rugby Players Association, Mammoth is the brand of choice for many of the sport’s elite players, including fellow England players Ben Youngs and Jonny May.

Mammoth has gifted a Medical Grade foam mattress to Tom, as he becomes the first person ever to scoop the award two years in a row.

John Tuton, Founder and CEO of Mammoth, says: “Huge congratulations to superstar flanker Tom Curry for winning the Mammoth England Men’s Player of the Year. It’s great to see the calibre of players we have in England today and Tom is a credit to the sport both on and off the field. Once again the hosts put on a great show, and we enjoyed hearing James Haskell give Tom some fun tips on how to use his mattress, as well as a nod to Mammoth’s cushioning and back support – all-important for recovery and performance.

“We’ve always been passionate rugby supporters, and Mammoth was founded after I was injured playing and developed our first prototype mattress to restore my health and fitness. We are proud partners of the RPA and it’s a continued privilege to support the country’s sporting elite to better sleep and recovery.”
