AI experts to take the stage at BFA summit

Key speakers from Google, Chick Digital, Autonomate and ACID will share AI insights at an event hosted by the British Furniture Association (BFA) this month.

BFA’s AI Summit: Efficiency-Productivity-Possibility says it will offer delegates the chance to "explore cutting-edge technology and its potential to be the foundation of future-ready business strategies for the sector".

Open to businesses across the furniture industry that are looking to understand and adopt AI with confidence, the summit will bring together a wide range of expertise that will support businesses in evaluating the benefits of AI.

BFA MD Phil Spademan says: “Our AI Summit will be tailored to the furniture industry and is designed to provide all businesses across the sector with the expert information and insight needed to plan for the future.

“As well as the chance to gain a practical understanding of AI, its uses in manufacturing and retail, and its potential implications for future decision-making, there will also be the opportunity to network with other forward-thinking businesses across the sector.”

Among the speakers at the summit will be Fatou Fall, a customer engineer at Google Cloud, who regularly presents on industry panels discussing next-generation cyber threats, AI-driven security mechanisms and cloud business transformations. A specialist in cloud architecture, data security and navigating enterprise defences in the era of artificial intelligence, he will give a presentation on ‘Designing the future: AI in furniture manufacturing and retail.’

Drawing on more than 30 years of experience across technology, business, automation and human behaviour, Jamie Claret, CEO of Autonomate, will outline ‘The seven dimensions of AI momentum: why most AI projects stall and how to build momentum that lasts.’

Also on the agenda will be Matt Chick, founder of Chick Digital, with the founder and CEO of Furniture Connect, Pavir Patel, alongside both Dids Macdonald and Laura Newbold of Anti-Copying In Design (ACID).

Phil adds: “Our AI Summit promises to be an informative and highly relevant event for businesses in the furniture sector. As the national trade body representing the interests of the UK furniture industry, it is our mission to champion the success of British furniture manufacturers, suppliers and retailers by driving innovation and growth. By hosting this event, we are providing our members and the wider industry with access to valuable expertise that can inform long-term decision making.”

The BFA AI Summit: Efficiency-Productivity-Possibility takes place on Thursday 10th September from 9am at the Coventry Building Society Arena. Tickets cost £150 and BFA members can enter for free.
