The royal wedding is set to get the Union Jack flying high this spring. The patriotic fervour will continue in to the summer with the British brands flying the flag at the Manchester Furniture Show, taking place from 15-17th July at Manchester Central.
Major UK upholstery and cabinet brands in the MidPoint sector of the show add to the prestige of the exhibitor line-up.
Premium British brands including Tetrad, Whitemeadow and Westbridge will show colourful new sofas and chairs in plush velvets, bright cottons and rich wools, while mainstream brands including Buoyant, Ashley Manor, XYZ and The Great Chair Company will bring dozens of fresh upholstery designs in florals, crisp neutrals and modern geometrics.
In cabinet furniture, Carlton, Seconique, Heartlands and Value Mark all promise new ranges, in a variety of textures and styles. Shaker-style and reclaimed woods will mix with metal, glass, wood and leather to seize visitors’ attention, while painted furniture, which remains on trend, will be displayed in new adventurous colours including navy, charcoal and claret.
Meanwhile, popular Irish companies Vida Living and Bluebone will return to Manchester with their inventive and imaginative living, dining and bedroom cabinet collections.
Beds are always popular at Manchester, and the British companies exhibiting in this sector will not disappoint. Whitemeadow will show off a new bed studio that comprises a variety of contemporary beds, while Hestia and MiBed return with their latest selection of motion beds in bright colours and sumptuous fabrics. Slumberdream and Divine Sleep, both new to the show, will also show their comprehensive collections of beds and mattresses designed to enhance sleep and sleeping posture.
In accessories, glitzy collections will be on show from CIMC, with mirrors and glass accent pieces to complement the supplier’s mirrored and lacquered furniture. Both Kesterport and Gallery Direct will show a wide selection of their cool, sophisticated and inspirational designs in furniture and accessories, while in lighting new exhibitor and brand leader Chelsom will show wall, ceiling and table lamps designed for 21st century living.
Joining the great British brands are key international names including Italia Living, Gala Collezione, MWA Aktuell, Venjakob, Sits and Rauch.
