Expansion continues at new January show

As the countdown to the new January Furniture Show – taking place between Tuesday 13th and Thursday 15th 2015 – continues, bookings are still pouring in, boosted by expanding into a fifth hall, the Pavilion, adjacent to hall 1, reports organiser Furniture Fairs.

The Pavilion adds a further 3000 sq m of exhibitor space, and will hold an additional 30 stands. Laraine Janes, co-director of Furniture Fairs and organiser of the January Furniture Show, says: “With five months still to go and the existing four halls full, we have taken the decision to extend into the Pavilion, which allows us to accommodate at least 30 more new exhibitors, as well as an area for VIPs.”

Furniture Fair co-director Theresa Raymond adds: “We have a strong team that is working hard to make this show a success and to meet exhibitors’ and visitors’ requirements as much as possible. The best thing about having new team members are the new ideas that they bring with them, and we have a couple of surprises up our sleeves that we hope exhibitors and visitors will enjoy.”

The new-look, new-format January Furniture Show has been enthusiastically welcomed by much of the industry. As the organiser points out, it will bring buyers and exhibitors together at the perfect time for planning and ordering for the year ahead – and 25 years of success at the NEC is evidence that this is the venue and timing the trade wants for their show.

Chris Walker at Sherborne Upholstery sums up this feeling, saying: “We are delighted that the January Furniture Show is going ahead in 2015, and are certain that, with the number of quality manufacturers already signed up, our customer base will undoubtedly attend the show in great numbers. We use this show to springboard our whole year and always launch a huge amount of product – 2015 will be no different.”

The exhibitors confirmed include: Duresta, Parker Knoll, G-Plan Upholstery, Collins & Hayes, Bentley Designs, Alstons, Mark Webster, Wood Bros, Ercol, Willis & Gambier, Baker Furniture, Tetrad, Ashwood Designs, David Gundry and Winsor (hall 1); Morris Furniture Group, Buoyant Upholstery, Sherborne Upholstery, Celebrity Recliners, Seconique, Skovby, Serene Furnishings, Greenapple Designs, Breasley, Kingstown, Lifestyle Europe, Furmanac and Lebus Upholstery (hall 2);
