All signs are pointing to this year's Furniture Component Expo (FCE) being the biggest yet, reports its organiser, the British Furniture Association (BFA), which says the expo’s mix of seminars, networking opportunities and ‘entire supply chain’ approach has seen anticipation for the event ramp up in recent weeks.
More than 70 companies are set to showcase their products and services at the expo, taking place at Telford International Centre on 11-12th March.
BFA MD Phil Spademan says: “Indications at this stage are pointing to our biggest year to date for the event, which fills a much-needed gap for the industry. This year we are also broadening the scope to include the kitchen and bathroom sector, contract furniture and interiors sector.
“FCE is a fantastic opportunity to connect with businesses across supply chains, discover new products and services and network with like-minded people within the sector. The packed seminar programme will offer insight from expert speakers on key topics, with some interesting panel discussions and workshops lined up too. For delegates looking for the next big idea that could revolutionise their business, the all-new Innovation Trail will shine a spotlight on those with something brand new to share.”
The Innovation Trail is a curated showcase of original solutions that are less than 18 months old and have not been seen at the FCE before. It will feature products selected for demonstrating real innovation that meets industry needs. The trail is sponsored by Blum UK, with Matt Glanfield (Blum) and John Legg (Furniture & Joinery Production) selecting an overall winner.
The BFA’s Future of Furniture Awards will also be presented at FCE, recognising businesses blazing a trail across sustainability, ESG reporting and education, with one individual named Sustainability Champion.
