Co-hosted by China National Furniture Association and Shanghai UBM Sinoexpo International Exhibition Co, Furniture China, which celebrated its 20th anniversary last year, will take place in the second week of September at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) and Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Centre (SWEECC) in Pudong, Shanghai.
This year’s show promises an increasingly higher quality of offer, from its 3000 exhibitors – plus those 700 exhibitors located within the 100,000 sqm of outdoor tents.
Besides country pavilions from France, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Korea, Furniture China 2015 will see Turkish and Australian pavilions participate.
The exhibitor line-up includes some of the best-known names in the business, including Ligne Roset, Parisot, Alsapan, Sifas, Gautier, CountryCorner, Meubar, Evan, VincentSheppard, Verdon, Interstil, Actona, Rowico and Tvilum. The UK’s Alexander & James and Exclusive UK have also confirmed participation.
Chinese design is on the rise, and, a after four years of growth, the show’s Design Hall is one of its highlights. The Design Hall has been expanded to encompass two indoor halls – W4 and W5 – featuring predominantly Chinese brands.
There is also the themed indoor exhibition area, Home Plus, which welcomes Wu Zuoguang, founder and design director of Sureeco, to create an exhibition highlight within 500 sqm in hall E4 of SNIEC. Every showroom in the area will take the shape of boxes which present differently-styled furniture presentations, from Contemporary, New Chinese, Art Deco, Classic and Outdoor Living to a new material showcase.
The on-site activity will also include several conferences, forums, awards and evening gatherings.
Last year, Furniture China reported 774 visitors from the UK, which made up almost 14% of the total visits from Europe. Since 2000, Furniture China has been focused on export, and offers the UK market a strong complement of good quality, high value goods.
This year, the organiser will assist visitors with their visa applications with an invitation letter service which is open to foreign visitors. Airport pick-up shuttles are provided free of charge during the exhibition period, and discounts are available on airfare and hotel accommodation if reservations are made in advance with the official partners of Furniture China 2015.
