Heimtexil – a holistic vision for interior design

From 13-16th January 2026, Frankfurt will once again become the focus of the global interiors industry as Heimtextil opens its doors. Beyond its role as a trade fair, Heimtextil has evolved into “a complete showcase of design, materials and ideas that reflect the way we live, work and interact with spaces” … says organiser Messe Frankfurt …

This year, the event is taking a bold step forward – a new hall layout, the inclusion of non-textile flooring, and a greater emphasis on holistic design concepts that connect function with aesthetics.

For interior designers, architects and buyers from the retail and hospitality sectors, Heimtextil promises to be a one-stop source of inspiration and solutions. The range is “staggering”, says Messe Frankfurt, from wallpaper and carpet to furniture fabrics, bed and bath products, outdoor textiles, and now flooring.

“It is precisely this diversity that sets Heimtextil apart,” the show organiser explains. “The fair does not just present products – it curates complete interior stories.”

Hall 3.0, for instance, brings together wallpaper, carpets, curtains and sun protection systems, allowing professionals to see how these elements interact. Major players from across Europe, Turkey and the US are unveiling new collections, while DecoTeam and Patricia Urquiola’s latest installation promise to inject fresh creative energy.

“These collaborations highlight how Heimtextil is moving beyond the traditional trade show format toward becoming a hub for design thinking,” says the organiser.

“Textiles remain the fair’s soul. Halls 3.1 and 4.1 host the world’s largest presentation of furniture and decorative fabrics. Here, function and design blend seamlessly, whether in contract fabrics for commercial use or in the high-quality decorative weaves that define home comfort. Exhibitors from Italy, Spain, the UK, Turkey and beyond demonstrate how traditional craftsmanship and industrial innovation can co-exist.”

And the carpet and rugs segment continues to thrive, now expanding into flooring, Heimtextil continues: “Halls 11 and 12 showcase everything from hand-woven treasures to large-scale solutions, complemented by the new Flooring and Equipment area. This expansion is more than a product diversification – it reflects the industry’s growing need for integrated solutions that unify textile and non-textile elements under one design vision.”

Hospitality remains a major focus. In halls 5 and 6, visitors will find the Bed, Bath and Living segment, with brands offering finished products that meet the requirements of hotels and contract projects. Short lead times, flexibility and quality define this space, where leading European manufacturers will present everything from luxury bedlinens to smart bedding innovations designed for restorative sleep.

What ties all this together is a sense of completeness, explains show director Bettina Bär, adding that the international market has shifted: “Clients want everything in one place. Heimtextil responds with a curated, structured environment that makes navigating this vast landscape efficient and inspiring.

“In 2026, Heimtextil is not just displaying fabrics, floors and furnishings. It is presenting a vision of interiors where every element, from curtains to carpets to duvets, works together in harmony. For professionals shaping the spaces of tomorrow, this January in Frankfurt is a date not to be missed.”
