The Furniture Makers’ Company, the City of London livery company and charity for the furnishing industry, is organising a third annual Online Christmas Charity Auction, with the hope of raising £10,000 to support its education, training, and welfare programmes.
This year’s auction, running from 1st-12th December, features more than 25 lots, donated by companies and individuals from across the furnishing industry. From premium mattresses and luxury bedding bundles to iconic designer chairs, cultural experiences and exclusive workshops, bidders will have the chance to secure "exceptional items" while supporting their industry charity at a key time of year.
Participants can place their bids through the auction platform, with all proceeds directly funding the charity’s work supporting people working or formerly working in the UK furnishing industry.
The Furniture Makers’ Company would like to thank the following companies and individuals for donating a lot to this year’s auction – Blum, Boat Building Academy, Bensons for Beds, Celtheath, Designer Contracts, DFS, Dreams, Ercol, Graham Marley, Handy, Harrison Spinks, Hypnos, London School of Furniture Making, Ocee & Four Design, Sealy, Shackletons, Silentnight, Simba, Sleepeezee, Sofa Source, Tempur and Whitemeadow.
Items donated include a two-night stay at the Harrison Spinks farm, an overnight spa break for two at Champneys, mattresses, chairs, workshop and experience vouchers.
Jonny Westbrooke, CEO at The Furniture Makers’ Company, says: “We are incredibly grateful to all the companies and individuals who have so generously donated to our third Christmas auction. Each year, the support we receive highlights the strength and spirit of our industry. Every bid placed helps fund our important charitable activities – from education and skills initiatives to welfare grants supporting people through challenging times.”
