Known as one of the industry’s friendliest events, Manchester Furniture Show is also one of its longest established – for more than 50 years, it has brought together key retail buyers and leading suppliers, at a time and place conducive for doing business for the autumn season.
The latest names to join the show’s established UK upholstery and cabinet supplier mainstays – such as Ashley Manor, Buoyant, Lebus, Westbridge, Whitemeadow, Baker, Furniture Origins and the Morris Group – are some of the furniture industry’s biggest, Nolte Mobel, Originals, Serene Furnishings, Mark Webster and Vida Living among them. Also returning is Shankar, while other new sign-ups include Flair Rugs and Italian sofa specialist Capellini Salotti.
German furnituremaker Rauch, which has produced bedroom furniture since 1897, is another new name attending this year’s show. Twenty years after arriving in the country, the UK is now one of Rauch’s most important international markets, with around 1000 lorries a year delivering the company’s four brands to retail customers across the UK and Ireland.
Serene Furnishings, rapidly becoming one of the UK’s leading suppliers of beds, will present its new living and dining furniture. Founder and MD Tasleem Tasab comments: “The timing of the show, along with its geographical location, makes it ideal for presenting the new Serene Living range of recliners and dining furniture. It will be the first time the range has been exhibited in the UK so we are very excited to be involved, and anticipate strong interest across all designs.”
Also back is Mark Webster Designs, along with Vida Living, which will show its luxury marble range.
The show is organised by proven furniture exhibition specialists. As members of the team now behind the January Furniture Show, they are seen as part of the fabric of the furniture industry, and renowned for understanding the needs of their exhibitors.
Event director Laraine Janes comments: “We are offering everything a furniture buyer could want – great names, showing new and stylish products at a great venue.”
An award-winning exhibition centre, Manchester Central is at the heart of one of Europe’s most vibrant cities. Its historic architecture and state-of-the-art facilities provide a strong venue, whilst the timing of this year’s event – 19th-21st July – dovetails with the biennial Manchester International Festival, a celebration of original and new work, incorporating special events, taking place from 2nd-19th July.
