Rebooking rate strengthens future of January Furniture Show

The UK’s biggest furniture show opens its doors in a week's time, and the 2024 edition is poised to be the biggest since pre-Covid times, boasting over 100 new exhibitors, says organiser Clarion Events.

Other firsts include a new Champagne Bar, enhanced VIP offering, new Festival Food Court, and a focus on new and emerging brands.

For the first time, the floorplan was released ahead of the show, with key customers confirming their positions for 2025. Regular exhibitors such as Buoyant Upholstery, Lebus, Baker Furniture, Whitemeadow, Kettle Home, Bluebone Furniture, Welcome, Sherborne Upholstery, Wiemann and many more have all secured their places, reflecting the trajectory of the show, as the commercial team looks forward to greeting new exhibitors onsite and booking them into 2025's edition.

Mike Aramayo, MD of Buoyant Upholstery, comments: “January Furniture Show is the only place where I can showcase all my new ranges, in one place, to the right clients, at the right price. Other events cannot compete on the range of new products on offer and the variety and quality of buyers that attend. We love the show, and it is very important for Buoyant and the industry that we continue to exhibit here.”

With a reimagined look and feel, the show promises visitors, exhibitors and partners a vibrant experience, with music throughout the venue, more networking events, new food outlets, fresh designs, new product focus display areas, and interactive hubs for visitors to listen and learn from the experts.

Thousands of new and returning visitors have already registered to attend the show, incliding representatives from DFS, Stokers, Arighi Bianchi, ScS, Wayfair, John Lewis, Heal’s, Fishpools, Dunelm, Varis Group, Marks & Spencer, H&M Furniture and more.

Nick Fox, CEO, Housing Units, remarks: “January Furniture Show is a well-timed, one-stop shop to see the best of UK suppliers and key international ones. I have been visiting the January Furniture Show for 25 years and it is great to see the show growing back to its former glory. I am really looking forward to visiting next weekend with my team.”

With registration already seeing a double-digit increase YoY, early insights show growth in key customer segments such as independent retailers (+19%), department stores (+61%) and contract buyers (+54%), says Clarion. Over 35% of total registrations are new, with a dedicated marketing campaign and new VIP offering resulting in increased buying budget across the audience and show floor.

Zoë Bonser, portfolio director, Clarion Retail, comments: "Following feedback from the market that the event landscape is too fragmented, our focus has been on investing in the growth of JFS as the national show that supports and represents the furniture and interiors industry. As an organiser we have ensured that our loyal customers are at the heart of everything we do. We’ve listened to their concerns and challenges and have put in place exciting new plans to continue to evolve JFS to be the event they want and need for the future.”
