A rewarding outing for Ireland’s suppliers

The fifth Irish Furniture & Homewares Show (IFHS), which took place in Dublin’s National Show Centre in August, has been lauded by its organiser as the best edition to date …

“We have been receiving great feedback, with the majority of our current exhibitors already looking forward to registering for IFHS 2019,” proudly notes the exhibition’s marketing manager, Enda Moran.

Despite a late change to the event’s timing prompted by a papal visit to Ireland, this year’s IFHS managed to break the records set in previous years.

With over 85 exhibitors bringing thousands of products to the event – plus a dedicated services hub launched in response to growing interest from trade services providers – the event proved representative of the wide variety of furniture and homewares available to the Irish trade, as well as a convivial platform for meeting others in the industry.

“The vast majority of exhibitors at the IFHS reported strong sales at the close of the show this year,” says Enda, “and next year we plan to be bigger and better!

“We are committed to investing into the IFHS, reinforcing and building on our strong foundations and delivering an exciting new chapter for the show’s evolution in 2019. With the already long-established relationship and crossover between the furniture and flooring industries, we know our business model is the perfect platform to support and nurture a Flooring and Carpet addition next year.”

The event also hosted this year’s edition of the Irish Furniture & Home Awards, which celebrate the best products and exhibitor efforts. Annaghmore Agencies claimed the show’s prestigious Retailer Choice award for Best Wholesale Supplier, voted by retailers, while the other awards were bestowed by an expert panel of judges, which adjudicated over 200 entries across 11 categories.
