This year’s CIFF Shanghai, which concluded on 13th September, recorded record visitor attendance – up +37% YoY – at the Hongqiao NECC. Despite its leaning towards the domestic Chinese market, the show increasingly proves itself to be a fertile destination for international buyers seeking to engage the Asian markets.
Now jointly organised by CFTE (China Foreign Trade Guangzhou Exhibition General Corporation) and leading Chinese retail chain Red Star Macalline, the event presented a wide range of furniture and furnishing solutions, supported by a strong feature programme focused on global living and working and presenting numerous opportunities to acquire information and do business.
The show reports that a total of 146,419 professionals from more than 200 countries attended this year’s Shanghai edition, which featured more than 1300 exhibiting companies across an exhibition area of some 400,000 sqm. They also benefited from a dedicated series of trade meetings organised by CIFF and aimed at pairing international buyers with Chinese suppliers.
Improved layout of the show’s various sectors – Home Furniture, Homedécor & Hometextiles, Outdoor & Leisure, the Office Show and Furniture Machinery & Raw Materials – enabled visitors to optimise time spent at the fair, before enjoying the services available in the vicinity.
The fair is growing continuously, and now hosts a series of key events, seminars, competitions and initiatives including the East Design Show, Design Dream Show, China Design Forum, Pinnacle Awards Asia Pacific, China Interiors & Decoration Conference, partnerships and themed pavilions which aim to inform and inspire.
As the culmination of some 20 years of trade events, and with a new collaboration with Red Star Macalline promising greater opportunities to bring the supply chain together, CIFF Shanghai is well on its way to becoming an established global business platform.
The show’s March edition, CIFF Guangzhou, will take place next year over two phases, from 18th-21st and 28th-31st March.
