Strong show for Turkish textiles

The 20th Evteks Istanbul International Home Textile Fair, which took place in May, recorded 114,813 visitors, of which 39,675 attended from abroad, principally from Europe and the Middle East. In terms of sales volume, this year’s edition was a commercial high point for the series, and took place across 160,000 sqm, featuring around 2500 brands.

Evteks is organised with the collaboration of Istanbul Fair Trade, operating under the auspices of CNR Holding and TETSIAD (the Turkish Home Textile Industrialists’ Association). TETSIAD’s vice president Ali Sami Aydın comments: “European companies were significantly interested in the fair. New buildings have to be built and our fairground has to be expanded.” He also underlined that knitted and classical fabrics attracted particular attention at the event. More than 150 foreign companies participated, principally hailing from Spain, Belgium, Morocco and Italy.
