Vietnam fair makes successful comeback

After being postponed for two years, the Vietnam International Furniture & Home Accessories Fair (VIFA EXPO) made its successfully comeback in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from 31st August to 3rd September.

Traditionally held each March, VIFA EXPO achieved "very impressive results" despite the temporary new timeline and the uncertain global trading backdrop, says the show's organiser.

The show comprised 175 exhibitors, with 975 booths, across a total area of 15,000 sqm. Among those, there were 34 foreign exhibitors from 12 countries – Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Korea, Holland, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and the US. The exhibitor breakdown was: furniture 61%; handicraft 10%; furnishings 8%; services 7%; and hardware, machines and wood materials 14%.

VIFA EXPO welcomed a total of 11,156 visitors. Among these were 4652 interantional visitors, from 89 countries and territories. The top 10 visitor countries were the US, Malaysia, Korea, Japan, India, the UK, Australia, China, Hong Kong and New Zealand. The visitors' origins were: Asia 59%; Europe 17%; America 15%; and Australia 9%.

The fair programme also featured two seminars: Canadian Wood: Exceptional Design Flexibility, held by Canadian Wood Vietnam and Lien Minh Company; and Digital Application for Export, held by Vayana, Lean Supply Chain, Datasean and Lien Minh Company. The seminars attracted some 100 and 30 professional attendees, respectively.
