Singapore fair sets new dates for 2014

International Furniture Fair Singapore Pte Ltd today announced an important change in dates for the 2014 edition of the International Furniture Fair Singapore/ASEAN Furniture Show (IFFS/AFS), The Décor Show and newly-launched Hospitality 360°. The trilogy of events will take place from 13-16th March 2014, a new set of dates that the organiser believes will better facilitate travel plans for exhibitors and visitors. The new dates replace the 9-12th March timeframe that the show had occupied over the last six years.

Ernie Koh, chairman of IFFS Pte, says: “It’s a new way forward, and a bold move, but we believe it is the right decision. It came about after careful deliberation and consultation with industry movers and shakers, including stakeholders, exhibitors and visitors. Buyers usually visit several shows in ASEAN and Asia regions, which results in extended sourcing trips. The new set of dates closes the gap between IFFS/AFS and the southern China furniture shows, significantly shortening a buyer’s travel duration to just one-and-a-half weeks, as opposed to the original excess of two weeks, which saves precious time and money. All things considered, we felt that it was time we spearheaded change, in hopes of delivering even better content and experiences to our exhibitors and visitors.”

The third edition of SingaPlural, a unique display of creations from various design disciplines, will also be held in conjunction with IFFS/AFS 2014. Visitors can look forward to celebrating creativity and design innovation at satellite exhibitions and workshops in the city from 12-16th March.
