January Furniture Show gearing up for a successful debut

The January Furniture Show 2015 at the NEC is set to be the biggest furniture event in the UK next year. Already 90% full, organisers have confirmed that the new format show, to be held 13-15 January, will be supported by every major brand that showed in 2014, with more big industry names signing up every day. These include La-Z-Boy, TCS, Buoyant, Morris Group, Global Home, Rauch and PD Global, Parker Knoll, Duresta, G Plan Upholstery, Westbridge, Baker, Lebus, Ercol, Furniture Origins, Sherborne, Alstons, Mark Webster, Breasley and Vogue.

Directors of Furniture Fairs and organisers of the event Laraine Janes and Theresa Raymond said: “We have been overwhelmed by the unprecedented level of support for this event. January is a crucial time in the industry calendar and having listened to exhibitors’ feedback we will be making several improvements to the Show during the next few months.”

Voicing Julian Bowen’s support, commercial director, Emmett Lenaghan said: “Julian Bowen has exhibited at The Furniture Show in January since the show was launched. This has always been our main show in the year and acts as the main spring board for our new products for the year ahead. Its Central England location and timing is ideal for our customers who travel from all parts of the UK, and Ireland and have done for many years. We are much relieved and excited about the show in 2015 and believe it will be a great success for both Julian Bowen and our customers.”

Richard Stamp, of Richard Stamp Agencies agreed: “I am absolutely over the moon that the organisers have listened to the trade, to do what the trade needs. Hopefully exhibitors, manufacturers and retailers will appreciate what they have done and will support this new exhibition to the utmost.”

Tasleem Tasab, founder and MD of Serene Furnishings Ltd said: “January at the NEC is synonymous with the UK’s number one interiors event – it’s a time in the calendar that is engrained in the minds of buyers and suppliers alike and the location has ensured the national and international flavour of the show.  For me personally, January and the NEC work, it’s that simple and exactly why Serene Furnishings will be exhibiting again in 2015. It makes no sense to change something that works for the whole industry.”

Ashleigh Pell, sales director at PD Global, added: “PD Global has exhibited at the NEC Furniture Show since 1990. When UBM announced they were moving to Excel in May we decided to support the initiative in pursuit of southern based commerce. However, when the MFS organisers decided to re-establish the Furniture Show at the NEC we felt compelled to subscribe to the January event in the full knowledge that a core number of visitors prefer the location.”

Paul Morgan, director off Hafren Furnishers, says: “For Hafren Furnishers, the central location of The January Furniture Show is ideal. The NEC has become the traditional home of the industry’s most important event and the new organisers have already signed up all of the major players. We’re very much looking forward to visiting the newly regenerated show in January 2015.”
