Maidstone furniture retailer announces closure

After 16 years of business, Lincoln Furniture Warehouse, St Peter’s Street, Maidstone, is to close down, reports Kent Online.

A statement published on the store’s website reads: “After nearly 16 years of trading, serving the local area with oak and pine furniture, the time has come for us to close the doors of The Big Yellow Building. The market we operate in has become far more crowded over the last few years and it is increasingly difficult to offer our undeniably outstanding service and product package and still retain a reasonable profit.

"We would not contemplate a lower level of expectation from our customers, and this is why we are taking this action now.

"In addition to this, our landlord has obtained planning permission to eventually build a supermarket on our site – congratulations to them."

Saturday 28th February and Sunday 1st March will see the retailer hold a two-day closing-down sale, in which it is aiming to sell the stock remaining in Maidstone and at the retailer's holding warehouse in Lincolnshire.
