BilliB Clocks' Bill Dawe passes away aged 85

BilliB Clocks' Bill Dawe, a well-known character in the industry with a love of telling stories, sadly passed away on 3rd May after a brave battle with cancer.

Born on September 20th 1929, Bill spent 46 years at the helm of one of the UK's leading suppliers of quality long case and wall clocks. He was recognised for always making the time for his customers, with a witty repertoire.

Bill's claim to fame was that he was the first person to import recliner chairs into the UK. After being told that they would never catch on because of their size, he decided to pursue the route of large clocks.

Richard Kendrick, Bill's 'right-hand man' for the last 18 years, had the benefit of Bill's knowledge and experience and will continue the company's legacy. The company will exhibit at next year's January Furniture Show.
