Oak Furniture Land in league table of Britain's leading private companies

Leading hardwood furniture retailer Oak Furniture Land has achieved a place in the 12th annual Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250 league table for the third year running. This table ranks Britain’s private mid-market growth companies with the biggest sales.

The company has steadily climbed the Top Track 250 table from a ranking of 242 in 2014, 163 in 2015 and 81 this year.

Oak Furniture Land’s founder and MD Jason Bannister says: “We are delighted to have been in the Top Track 250 for the last three years. It’s a great honour to be included, and seeing ourselves move rapidly up the list just adds to our drive to constantly improve. Let’s hope we can continue to improve our place in forthcoming years!”

Tim Lincoln, Partner at Grant Thornton UK LLP, the title sponsor of the league table, praised the companies for their performance: "In the wake of the EU referendum it is more important than ever that businesses, and the public and the third sectors work together to help the UK to build on its strengths and ensure that the economy continues to grow. I am heartened to see how these businesses are embracing a collaborative approach to drive prosperity throughout the UK and wider society.”

The success of Oak Furniture Land has been rapid. The company increased sales by an average of 42% a year for the past three years, to £239m last year and has become the only company to rank in the Sunday Times Fast Track 100 table (the Top Track’s ‘sister’ table) for a fifth time.

The Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250 complements the Top Track 100, which features Britain’s biggest private companies. It ranks the next 250-biggest companies by sales.
