FIRA partners with Clerkenwell Design Week

The Furniture Industry Research Association has once again been confirmed as a partner of Clerkenwell Design Week, which takes place 23rd-25th May. The festival, which attracted over 34,000 visitors and 273 exhibitors in 2016, is an annual focus for London’s leading design district.

Following the success of last year’s event which introduced a new layout, 2017 will again play host to hundreds of design-led exhibitions, showroom presentations, talks and installations. Activities will run over three days with unique exhibitions spanning north to south from Spa Fields down to Farringdon.

Speaking on the partnership, Phil Reynolds, general manager at FIRA, says: “There are clear synergies between our work within the research association and the advances in design showcased at Clerkenwell Design Week.

“We work closely with many organisations located within the thriving Clerkenwell design hub, supporting them through assessing ergonomic qualities of furniture, testing new designs for durability and suitability, supporting with user trials of new concepts and advising on applicable standards and regulations to ensure compliance for both the domestic and contract market.

“I’ll be keen to see what is showcased at the festival this year as furniture design continues to evolve and push boundaries.”
