Harveys and Bensons appoint new creative director

Harveys and Bensons for Beds have bolstered their senior leadership team with the appointment of Alison Hill, who becomes the brands’ first creative director, and will work across both operations to bring to life their commercial vision, support new innovation and steer creative product development strategy.

Reporting to Harveys MD Kalwant Singh with a main focus on the furniture brand, she will also support the Bensons business.

Alison will play a key part in changing the perception of both brands with a younger and more style-conscious demographic, developing creative collections and ensuring that both are on the front foot with trends.

She has an impressive array of experience in retail. Most recently she was at DFS as creative director, bringing new trend input to the core range and as part of the team responsible for the launch of the first upholstery range for lifestyle brand, Joules.

Her previous roles also include head of brand and product development at Conran Holdings – where she assisted in growing the Conran licensed business – and five years as head of design at Debenhams, where she provided creative direction for the entire Home range, working in close collaboration with the Designers at Debenhams.

Kalwant Singh says: “We’re delighted to have Alison on board, and feel her extensive experience working across big retailers and realising a creative vision will prove invaluable.”

Alison adds: “Harveys and Bensons are in the middle of great change and innovation, so I’m delighted to be able to support this and be part of a committed and driven team.”
