The Furniture Awards 2019 winners revealed

Following an extensive evaluation process, the winners of this year’s edition of The Furniture Awards have been selected.

Organised by Furniture News magazine in partnership with the January Furniture Show – and supported this year by the BFM and Orbital Vision – The Furniture Awards recognise the industry’s champion suppliers, based on the strength of the new products launched at the event.

After narrowing the entries down to a shortlist, this year’s judges – Ross Beveridge (Archers Sleepcentre), Matt Hesketh (AHF), Malcolm Walker (FIRST MW) and Rob Scarlett (Furniture & Print) – gathered to inspect the most promising entries in person, before returning their verdict:

Mattresses & Divans Category

Highly Commended - Silentnight (stand 5-G80) for the Eco Comfort Collection

Bedroom Cabinet Category

Monaco by Wiemann
Winner - Wiemann (stand 4-C50) for Monaco
Highly Commended - Jual Furnishings (stand 4-B41) for the San Francisco Smart Range

Accents Category

Julia Resin Chair by Hartman
Winner - Hartman UK (stand 2-B25) for the Julia Resin Chair
Highly Commended - Thought Machine (stand  3-K62) for Saviour

Upholstery Category 


Winner - Parker Knoll (stand 1-F20) for Collection 150
Highly Commended - Alpha Designs (1-E85) for Nido

Living & Dining Cabinet Category 


Winner - ALF (stand 2-D20) for the Fusello Table
Highly Commended - Gallery Direct (stand 3-L20) for Barcelona

Each winner will now have the chance to develop a photorealistic rendition of their entry, courtesy of creative digital agency, Orbital.

Event director Cleere Scammel comments: “One of the best things about The Furniture Awards is they truly represent the amazing array and quality of the products on show at the January Furniture Show. We are looking forward to developing the awards in future years, with the aim of making them a highly regarded, industry-wide accolade.”

The January Furniture Show 2019 opens today (20th January) and runs until Wednesday 23rd at the Birmingham NEC.
