Land of Beds selected for Parliamentary Review

Cheshire retailer Land of Beds has been featured in this year's Parliamentary Review, a document that provides insight on the state of British retail.

The review is shared with cabinet ministers, Government agencies and policymakers, and Land of Beds was one of seven UK companies included.

The review sought Land of Beds' perspective on how a family business can succeed in the current economic climate, and selected Land of Beds due to its impressive performance. Now in its third generation, the business is one of the country’s leading independent bed retailers and has achieved a 20% YoY growth for the last three years, with annual turnover now exceeding £12m.

No stranger to the spotlight, Land of Beds won Family Business of the Year in 2017 and is also shortlisted for Retailer of Year at the National Family Business Awards, which will be hosted at Wembley stadium in July. With stores in the North-west and a national online presence, Land of Beds is now a major player amongst British bed retailers.

'We now have the logistics, technology and marketing capabilities in place to ensure we continue to gain a bigger market share – our third-generation business has come a long way since its humble beginnings," says MD Mike Murray. "But it's not just the impressive sales growth of Land of Beds that was taken into account for the review. Our core values of helping communities to sleep better, giving to good causes and promoting health and wellness is fundamental to our success. We're making the transition from being a traditional bed company to a company that focuses on sleep quality, and all the benefits a good night’s sleep can bring."
