Two new members have been elected to the board of the British Furniture Manufacturers (BFM).
Paul James of One-Call Furniture and Ian Peers of ercol have joined the team, with a commitment to putting the nation’s manufacturing on the map.
The BFM recently revealed a new strategic direction which includes a focus on enhanced communications, greater engagement with members and the development of new opportunities to promote the value of British-made furniture to consumer audiences.
Paul says: “I am extremely keen to promote the ‘Made In Britain’ message and to highlight the fact that we can manufacture well-designed, high-quality and, importantly, affordable furniture in this country. My main objectives include raising awareness of BFM and the comprehensive benefits it offers to members and to work as part of the board to drive forward initiatives to encourage young people to seek training and employment within the furniture sector.”
Ian adds: “I have joined the board because I’m passionate about UK manufacturing. I believe that industry bodies such as the BFM can play a key role in helping manufacturers in their sector to be successful.”
