Meet FIRA's experts at latest webinar

FIRA International's expert staff are the focus of the next webinar from the UKAS-accredited testing house, in lieu of the company's in-person open day.

The webinar plans to give the opportunity for all across the furniture industry to meet the experts, hear their thoughts on key issues, and offer the chance to ask questions related to their organisation or sector.

The 45-minute session, which takes place on Friday 27th November at 11am, starts with ergonomics experts Claire Clark and Levent Caglar. They will focus on the pertinent topic of the future of the workplace – whether this is in the home or the office. They will then explore how ergonomics influences the safety, wellbeing and productivity of people in the Covid-era and beyond.

Mark Allison, sustainability consultant, will discuss the ‘three pillars of sustainability’, and question whether the furniture industry actually needs ‘four pillars’ instead.

The ‘new’ flammability regulations are next in the agenda, when FIRA International’s testing and technical manager, Howard James, will update delegates on progress on the regulations, share future timings and discuss potential changes. He will then talk about common furniture tests for safety, durability, stability and flammability, with explanations of the key points.

Returning to the current Covid climate, Emma Delea from Service Technicians will share how the team is conducting independent furniture inspections and repairs in consumers' homes, alongside showing before and after repair transformations.

The session will then conclude with an ask-the-experts session, open to all topics affecting the furniture industry today.

Registration is open now.
