Online sofa brand Swyft has announced a record £2.8m sales after its first 12 months of trading. The start-up, which generated £52,000 worth of sales last Friday alone, is also unveiling its new 24-hour delivery service to customers this week.

Swyft says it espects to generate a further £1m in sales in the lead-up to Christmas.

To help cater for the growing demand for its sofa-in-a-box products, the brand has also invested a further £150,000 in 2020 in its factory facilities in Portugal, increasing its manufacturing capacity by +60%. It also says it is planning a further £3m factory investment, to help to cater for the growing demand for its sofas.

Kieran Hewkin (ex-Lombok), the co-founder of Swyft, says: “We are amazed at how well our sofas have been received by the public. We never anticipated that the brand would be this popular with consumers straight off the bat. We have big plans for next year and have brought on two more designers who will be solely focused on driving innovation through the business across different areas of furniture and soft furnishings so we can continue to reinvigorate the category.”
