FIRA International will be opening 2021 with a webinar exploring the European REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation (& Restriction) of Chemicals) Regulation. The session, which takes place at 10am on Thursday 14th January, is scheduled for 90 minutes, with a further 15 minutes planned for a Q&A.
Hosted by John Hubbard, technical specialist at FIRA International, the session aims to give delegates an understanding of the impacts of the REACH legislation for the furniture industry, aiding them in demonstrating compliance to their customers and considering how to manage restricted chemicals throughout the global supply chains.
John says: “The REACH Regulation has now been in force since 2007 and has shifted the onus for demonstrating the safe use of chemicals onto the chemical suppliers and downstream users. However, the legislation also has important obligations for retailers and suppliers bringing products, including furniture and other household goods, onto the European market.
“FIRA International receive numerous queries from the industry on the REACH Regulation, and the Transition Period seems to have exacerbated this. Through this webinar I hope to dispel some of the REACH myths and demonstrate facts with delegates, alongside sharing some common queries I receive from customers with the aim of supporting others who may have the same, or similar questions.”
