Revenue up +90% at Sussex-based etailer

Luxury home ecommerce retailer, The French Bedroom Company, has reported record YoY revenue growth of +90%.

The past trading year has been the best yet for the West Sussex-based business, which was set up 14 years ago and is co-owned and managed by Georgia Metcalfe and Ben Cons.

An increase in DIY interest and home renovations last year resulted in huge sale spikes across the brand’s product categories. In October alone, sales of its signature French beds rose by +40%, bedlinen sales by +80% and mattresses by +320%.

The company’s website was recently upgraded to accommodate extra traffic following a +28% uplift, while the brand has seen a +300% rise in customer retention YoY.

Georgia comments: “The past year has been fabulous for our business as people have taken a positive stance in freshening up their home to provide more comfort. It has been a tumultuous year which nobody could ever have imagined, but we are proud of our commitment to offering customers the highest service possible on-site as they make a journey through purchasing their dream bedroom pieces.

“2021 Q1 may prove to be difficult for retailers importing goods due to the unpredictability of Brexit. We have stock-loaded as much as possible to ensure we can offer our products to customers with minimum delay.

"We look forward to the future and what it holds for The French Bedroom Company, as we can continue to show why we are one of the best bedroom and home interior brands in the UK.”
