Simba records best-ever Q2 results

Generating more sales in the first half of 2021 than the entirety of 2019, Simba, the London-based sleep technology business, continues its rapid growth, recording its highest-ever Q2 sales and profits.

Simba's H1 sales to 30th June were up +130% YoY. This significant sales growth follows +66% growth in 2020 compared to 2019.

Simba also continues to outperform the category in consumer sentiment, reaching over 150,000 five-star reviews, achieving over 90% of both four- and five-star reviews on Trustpilot, and a consistently high Net Promoter Score of 65%+.

The H1 launch of Simba’s Hybrid Luxe mattress outperformed expectations and proved that customers are increasingly valuing the innovative and more premium end of Simba's range. The launch of the Simba Hybrid Bundle sleep system, available with all three of the Simba Hybrid mattresses, also enabled further business growth in Q2 and eased the purchasing path for customers.

The Simba Hybrid Pro was also awarded the T3 Best Mattress award during the quarter, and Simba achieved the seal of approval from Good Housekeeping Institute, which highlighted the temperature control of the Simba Hybrid mattresses.

Steve Reid, chief executive, says: “The easing of lockdown in the UK in April brought offline competition back into the market, and whilst there have been more demands on people’s discretionary spend, an increase in costs of advertising and inflationary pressure in raw materials, Simba has proven more than resilient.

“Sales performance through the lifting of lockdown has remained very strong. Added to our record sales and accelerating growth, the first half of 2021 has also been Simba’s most profitable ever, and the second quarter was our fifth straight quarter of EBITDA profitability.

“Thanks to our continuous product innovation and the continued hard work and support of the team and our partners, the business continues to go from strength to strength.”
