Housing Units launches Modern Living department

Manchester-based home department store Housing Units has launched a new department aimed at the urban living market.

The retailer describes Modern Living as a "cool and edgy concept, featuring carefully selected furniture and accessories with smaller homes in mind and suited to multifunctional living spaces … whether you’re designing an apartment, downsizing or getting that first foot on the property ladder, you will find modern furniture to decorate every room in fantastic lifestyle settings."

The department also offers furnishings and decorative accessories, and purports to be a "simple, one-stop shop for urban living".

Housing Units' CEO, Nick Fox, comments: “The recent works we have completed in the last 12 months have transformed our presentation, and it’s only right that we inject newness into our very important ground-floor area of our home furnishing store. This new concept allows us to offer a very important missing part of the market and cement our position as the home department store. Our team have worked very hard to bring something new and exciting.”

The department opens in-store this week, and will be present online later this month.

Housing Units – known for its top-hatted doormen - was established in 1947. It is a family-owned furnishings retailer based in Failsworth to the north of Manchester. It stocks 30,000 lines across a range of departments in two buildings, and prides itself on its unique style of customer service, the quality and value of its goods and the shopping experience it provides.
