Bedmaker reveals scope of new partnership

Hypnos has embarked on a five-year partnership with world-renowned educational charity and social enterprise, the Eden Project.

This collaboration will encompass innovative charity, community and sustainability initiatives that focus on the importance of the environment and creating sustainable sleep solutions.

The Eden Project will become Hypnos’ official charity partner, but the partnership will also utilise the shared expertise of both organisations to enhance consumers’ knowledge and understanding of true sustainability and also influence future development projects.

As a pioneer in sustainable thinking, this partnership is the next step for Hypnos, having been on a 10-year journey working with carefully selected, like-minded ethical partners, farmers and suppliers, including UK wool-assurance initiative The Woolkeepers, and Red Tractor Food and Farming Standards, while sourcing other traceable, certified and responsibly sourced materials for its beds.

The full scale of the collaboration will be revealed over the coming months, but the partnership will cover a range of elements, from employee development, fundraising and community initiatives to working with the Eden Project to create nature-based products and, in the process, help educate consumers on the importance of protecting the environment.

Eden is dedicated to educating the public on issues around climate change, sustainability and ethical production – something that Hypnos fees strongly about.

James Keen, Hypnos' CEO, says: “As such a well-respected advocate of sustainability and championing the environment, we’re delighted to announce our partnership with the Eden Project, both on a charitable and strategic level.

“We have spent the last decade ensuring that every aspect of what we do is as sustainable as it possibly can be, and by working with ethically minded partners, like the Eden Project, in new and different ways, we can continue to press forward with a shared mission of sustainability.

“Hypnos believes in constant innovation. Through this partnership we can share our experience and knowledge about sleep and bedmaking with the Eden Project to establish new and forward-thinking ways to integrate sustainability into all aspects of the business and our products, whilst supporting the important work the Eden Project does.

“We’re proud to continue to lead the way when it comes to ethical bed production and look forward to revealing the exciting things we’ve got planned with Eden over the coming months.”

Eden’s interim chief executive, David Harland, adds: “We are thrilled to have the support of Hypnos and we are excited to collaborate on further projects over the next five years. Educating the public on the use of natural materials and ethical manufacturing processes is an important part of what we do, and working with partners such as Hypnos helps us to extend this to consumers to help them better understand the origins of the products they buy. We look forward to seeing how the partnership develops in the coming months.”
